INTERGENERATIONAL PANEL
In this intergenerational dialogue, panelists will explore how this issue has evolved over the years and how it has remained entrenched or stagnant. Questions to be explored: What’s changed? What hasn’t? What can we learn from one another? How well are we doing communicating across generations?
Moderator: Rachel Simmons, Author of Odd Girl Out, Curse of the Good Girl, and founder of the Girls Leadership Institute
Julie Zeilinger, founder of F-Bomb
Erica Watson, actor, stand-up comedian
Jean Kilbou rne, creator of Killing Me Softly and author of Too Sexy Too Soon

MEN IN DIALOGUE
Man Up Campaign Founder and Human Rights Activist Jimmie Briggs and veteran feminist and author Michael Kimmell will explore men’s roles as allies to girls and women, as well as their changing relationships with their own bodies. This conversation will be facilitated by Feministing blogger Chloe Angyal.

MEDICALIZATION AND GLOBALIZATION
In this wide-ranging panel, experts will illuminate the ways in which the more widely understood “body image issue” is deeply connected to how our bodies are controlled across the globe—in medical, economic, and militaristic contexts. Panelists will discuss their specific area of expertise, but also point to the similar themes that arise in these varied geographies and industries. Finally, the group will point towards constructive ways that we might build alliances in our collective quest to take back our bodies.
Moderator: Deb Burgard, psychologist and co-founder of the Health at Every Size approach
Leonore Tiefer, Associate Clinical Professor in the Psychiatry Department at the NYU School of Medicine, feminist activist in sexology
Katherine Flegal, Distinguished Consultant at the National Center for Health Statistics of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
Sayantani DasGupta, physican and writer
Wendy Shanker, author of Fat Girl’s Guide to Life and Are You My Guru?
Plus, we will hear from our three LOVED BODIES, BIG IDEAS Contest Winners, original song and poetry, and view international debriefs from our summit partners in London, Melbourne, Buenos Aires, and Sao Paulo!

We look forward to seeing you there. Take care.
-Courtney E. Martin, Summit Coordinator
